Nanotechnology Speaker

Image result for nanotechnology

Nanotechnology has become a prosperous industry in the entire world. Currently, the riches man in Los Angeles is a physician known as Patrick soon-shiong, the first mastermind to create nanotechnology in medicine. He created the most effective drug for breast cancer.

Nanotechnology is not an industry for everyone, it requires a lot of math, science, and physics. Nanotechnology is the understanding and control of small particles/ molecules. According to the recent trend, by 2020 nanotech can make flexible display stealth technologies such as invisible cloaks and invisible panels. Nanotech is another name more small small molecules so small you will not be able to see it with the naked eye.

The cool thing about nanotechnology is that you can alter the shape of these nano particles. When their shape is altered, the color will also change which is why we can see red colored gold ingots. Changing the shape of these nano particles is very important because as we study them we can make new applications for it like hydrophilic repellant surfaces. Where water sits on top of the surface where the nano particle is sprayed on.

Nano technology is an upcoming field that is coming in the 21st century and technology is going to be better than ever with it.

Brain Health Fair

At the UCLA Brain Health Fair, I didnt really learn as much as I would have wanted but it did reinforce the knowledge that I already had. Most of the booths talked about the main basic brain parts and its functions, that I already know. What I found most interesting was when the neuroscience doctors talked about the EEG reader. The wait for the short class wasnt too long, but the students that talked about their knowledge were very enthusiastic about what they were learning. I was able to see what the brain waves of a normal person looked like compared to the brain waves of an individual with and going through a seizure. Attatched are some of the photos we took as a group, my favorite activity was definitely the lectures given because that was where I learned the most.

Nursing Presentation

Image result for nursing
Nursing has been a field that I really want to go into because it seems very interesting to me. There are many different types of nurses from pediatric nurse practitioners, genatology nurse practitioners, to triage nurses. There are so many benefits to becoming a nurse, one is that public health nurses are government jobs. Meaning that there are better pensions than private companies. Currently, many people are becoming RNs and from there, you can work your way up to a specialized nurse.

Typically, in a day of the life of a nurse, you visit all of your patients and you talk to them and go over your days procedure and catch up with the patients health. After that, you go ahead and give your patients their medications. Most days are unpredictable however but that is where the fun in nursing comes in, it is not a very boring job.

To become a nurse, you first must get your BSN and get into a school for nursing to get your credentials. You can get a job and do this at the same time as they will give you 5 years to get this done.

Overall, nursing is a really fun career to get into. You work with many different patients and everyday is a new day, you dont the same things over and over.

Letter to My Lungs

Dear Lungs,

I have trained so hard to work with you and I really appreciate all you do for me. From the times we went swimming and you helped me from drowing to the time we trained to practically live in the water. I am so thankful that you are so strong, together we both are helping others who may not have as strong of lungs I have. When we go hiking, I love that I dont get as tired as my peers, it goes to show hard you worked to get stronger and something like hiking doesnt stop who you are. I try my best to avoid all toxic fumes and never feed anything bad to you, but it is very difficult living in the polluted Los Angeles. If you ever need me for anything, you just let me know and ill be there just like youve been there for me.

Love,

Brandson Le
