Extra Credit aquarium blog

The ocean makes up 70% of our Earth; meaning, there is a bunch of different species and wild life that live and grow in the deep waters. My trip to the Long Beach Aquarium really showed me how much different animals have changed over time to adapt toward their food. For example, when I went past the hallway of all the time periods that temperature changed, i noticed that the waters get warmer and warmer each year (due to global warming) and slight change in temperature could be so dramatic that certain fishes need to relocate since they need to move to warmer water temperature and where they currently live is probably colder. In another particular interaction pool, we were able to touch corals and sea anemones. After reading some of the attached information, i realized that the skin of the anemones needed to adapt to the salt water concentration and through osmosis, allow oxygen into the marine animal. Same goes for fishes that has it's system adapted to the water pressure since salt water increases water pressure more than freshwater, over millions of years the water will eventually get saltier and so fishes change alongside the water.
